IHP Geyser FAQ's

  • Slash electricity costs: Traditional geysers consume between 50–60% of your electricity bill. The Power4Less IHP Geyser® reduces that to just 10%, comparable to the energy needed for your lights. Annual running costs drop from approximately R30,000 to R2,000.
  • No leaks or bursts: Engineered for reliability, it eliminates the common frustrations of water damage and unexpected breakdowns.
  • Built to last: With proper care, the Power4Less IHP Geyser® delivers up to 15 years of dependable performance – because true quality should stand the test of time.
  • Superior insulation: Advanced design keeps water hot for longer, reducing the need for constant reheating and saving even more energy.
  • Smart, safe, eco-friendly: App-enabled technology lets you manage and control your geyser from anywhere in the world, while ensuring safety and sustainability.

That’s why we don’t just call it a geyser — we call it the future of water heating

Unlike a conventional geyser that burns electricity to generate heat, the Power4Less IHP Geyser® taps into the natural warmth in the air around you.

  • Air-powered heating: A built-in fan draws in surrounding air, and the system absorbs and compresses that heat before transferring it directly into your water.
  • Efficient energy cycle: This process repeats continuously, requiring less than 600 watts of power compared to the 3,000–4,000 watts consumed by a traditional electric geyser.
  • Same comfort, lower cost: The result is the same hot shower you enjoy today, delivered at a fraction of the cost.
  • Re-engineered innovation: It’s not just an upgrade; it’s a complete reinvention of water heating technology.

That’s the Power4Less IHP difference: smarter, greener, and more affordable hot water for your home.

The Power4Less IHP Geyser® is designed to keep its tank hot throughout the day, unless you choose to switch it off using the timer. When cold water enters, it flows into the bottom of the tank, where it is heated from the bottom up. Hot water is then drawn from the top of the tank. This smart design ensures that water temperature is retained and allows the incoming cold water to heat up faster, so you always have hot water ready when you need it.

The Power4Less IHP Geyser® uses advanced heat pump technology and superior insulation to minimize energy waste. Unlike conventional geysers that lose significant heat throughout the day, the Power4Less system retains its temperature efficiently, reducing electricity consumption and saving you money on monthly bills.

On very cold winter days when the ambient temperature drops below 12°C, the booster element supports the heat pump to ensure water reaches the desired temperature quickly. This means you can rely on consistent hot water supply even in extreme conditions, without compromising efficiency.

These features guarantee that the Power4Less IHP Geyser® maintains hot water availability throughout the day. The system is designed to keep water ready whenever you need it, eliminating long waits and ensuring comfort and convenience for your household.

Independent labs in Europe, Asia, and the UK tested the Power4Less IHP Geyser®.  (At 12°C ambient temperature, running 24/7 for a full year, it used about 620 kWh per year.

Average per unit of electricity R4.20

Electrical Geyser (200L)

Power consumption: 3.5Kw

Time to heat water: 3hrs

Power consumption: Time to heat water x power

                                              : 3hr x 3.5kw = 10.5kwh

If the geyser runs twice a day: Power consumption x 2

                                                                  : 10.5Kwh x 2 =21kwh

Daily consumption: 21kwh x R4.20 = R88.20

Monthly: R88.20 x 31 = R2732.20

That’s a massive saving every year on water heating costs.

And if you’re a family of four using double the hot water? Your savings almost double.

Yes, if you have solar panels connected through an inverter, the Power4Less IHP Geyser® can operate off the inverter. The geyser does not run directly from a DC power supply, so PV panels cannot be connected straight to it.

And here’s something exciting: by mid‑2027, new compatibility options are on the horizon.

The Power4Less IHP Geyser® is a complete replacement for a conventional geyser.

It can operate seamlessly off the electrical grid or be connected to a solar power system through an inverter, giving you flexibility and energy savings.

The recommended platform size is 900mm x 900mm with a thickness of 40mm. At minimum, you can use 700mm x 700mm, provided the thickness remains 40mm.

Eskom’s tariffs continue to rise year after year, with another increase coming in 2026. If you stick with a conventional geyser, that 60% share of your bill will only grow. Waiting doesn’t freeze your costs; it makes them climb higher.

By moving to the Power4Less IHP Geyser® now, you lock in savings and protect yourself against future tariff hikes.
